The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) was the focus of a major fund-raising event in Dubai on November 21st 2006, under the patronage and in the presence of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein. Also attending were HRH Prince Talal Bin Muhammad and HRH Princess Ghida, Chairperson of KHCF.
More than 650 guests attended the gala dinner to show their support and raise funds for the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. The money raised will go towards upgrading both the adult and pediatric Intensive Care Units of the King Hussein Cancer Center with the latest state of the art medical technology.
“The importance of this fundraiser and the support we have received cannot be over-estimated. It is a strong demonstration of regional support for a vital, regional center that helps save hundreds of patients’ lives from all over the Arab world.”, stated HRH Princess Ghida Talal.

The Gala Dinner, the Foundation’s first event in the UAE, was presented by Tania Bryer, the renowned British television presenter and included a performance of oriental music by the celebrated Jordanian violinist Jihad Akl and a performance by the Dubai Drums entertainment band. Six unique items were auctioned, including an Ottoman illumination donated by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum and HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein.
