Amman, 20 April 2022 – Under the patronage of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KHCF and the German Cancer Research Center (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum, DKFZ) in a meeting held at KHCC. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two entities in the areas of cancer research, education, and training, focusing on cancer prevention strategies, cancer diagnostic technologies, and cancer treatment technologies and applications.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Asem Mansour, KHCC CEO, and Prof. Dr. Stefan Pfister, Division Head of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Department at DKFZ.
On the occasion of the signing, Princess Ghida stated: “We at the King Hussein Cancer Center believe that partnerships with international cancer centers have a vital role in advancing our work, through exchanging experiences and information, and harnessing cutting-edge technologies in research. Such cooperation is critical to achieving our goals in scientific research, which is the future of cancer treatment.”
DKFZ is based in Heidelberg, Germany and is the largest biomedical research institute in Germany with more than 3,000 researchers working in 90 departments, in addition to specialized researchers who are dedicated to cancer treatment research.
